Prawit Naksuwan has been at the same bench since 2009. In that time he has handled a wide range of mid-twentieth-century mechanical movements — Swiss lever escapements, pin-set pocket watch conversions, early Japanese automatics — and developed a working familiarity that comes only from volume and repetition. He is not drawing on a course certificate. He is drawing on fifteen years of encounters with difficult calibers.

Equipment Appropriate to the Work

Bezel Crown uses an ultrasonic cleaning bath matched to bracelet alloy compositions, a timing machine for rate measurement, and photographic documentation at case opening. The tools are chosen for what the work requires, not for what photographs well in a brochure. The timing machine produces a printable trace, which can form part of the pre-travel assessment record if the owner wants it.

Appointments are confirmed by name and watch description. If the scope of work changes during the visit, the owner is told before anything proceeds. When bracelet links cannot be restored, we source donors from matching reference pieces rather than using modern replacements that would alter the bracelet's character. This takes longer and costs more, but the result is a bracelet that remains true to its period.
